The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore is now accepting applications for three scholarships tailored to studies in healthcare including the Dr. Alfred and Ruth Beattie Healthcare Careers Scholarship, the Naleppa Family Healthcare Scholarship, and the Donald A. Harting Scholarship. Scholarships amounts range from $500 to $2,000 annually and applications are due by April 1st.
The Dr. Alfred and Ruth Beattie Healthcare Careers Scholarship awards up to $2,000 annually and recipients may reapply for multiple years subject to satisfactory academic performance. Applicants must have graduated from public or private high schools in Wicomico County and completed at least one year of undergraduate study in an eligible healthcare program. Students with the greatest financial need and strong ties to the Eastern Shore of Maryland will be given priority consideration.
The Naleppa Family Healthcare Scholarship awards $500 for one academic year. Eligible applicants must have graduated from a public or private high school in Wicomico County and be enrolled as a full-time student in a healthcare program. Priority will be given to students with the greatest financial need and strong ties to the Eastern Shore.
The Donald A. Harting Scholarship awards a minimum of $2,000 for one academic year to a student accepted into a graduate program leading to a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), or Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree as a full-time student. Applicants must have graduated from a public or private high school located in Dorchester, Wicomico, Worcester, or Somerset County, Maryland.
