New ENDOW MARYLAND Tax Credit Promotes Permanent Funds to Local Communities

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore is a partner in the “Endow Maryland” program. The Endow Maryland offers a tax credit for gifts of at least $500 to qualified endowment funds at Maryland community foundations.

Your Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES) will maximize the impact of the Endow Maryland tax credit by focusing on those funds which support the most urgent needs in the community and provide maximum flexibility over time. Gifts to the Foundation’s Community Needs Endowment Fund may qualify for a 25% tax credit on your 2015 Maryland state tax return. Individuals and businesses can make a gift to any existing community needs fund or start a new fund.

You can qualify for this tax credit by making a gift to the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s Community Needs Endowment Fund. Gifts of $500 - $2,000 are eligible for the tax credit. Donors who wish to create a new Community Needs Endowed Fund at CFES may also be able to take advantage of this tax credit. Because tax credits are limited, we urge you to become involved.

For more information about an Endow Maryland tax credit for a gift to CFES, please visit the Community Foundation’s website at www.cfes.org or by contacting Erica Joseph or BJ Summers at the Community Foundation at 410-742-9911.
