Community Foundation Warms Hearts Through Salvation Army Senior Center Support

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES) awarded a $4,000 Community Needs Grant to the Salvation Army – Salisbury Corps to support senior citizen programs at the Oak Street location. This program encourages seniors to become more active which leads to a higher quality of life, while decreasing depression.

Community Foundation staff and volunteers visited the senior center during their annual Valentines luncheon, where Charles Paparella, or "Charlie" as he's known around here was regaling them with stories and songs. Charlie is well known around Delmarva for his past television show Travels with Charlie, broadcast on WBOC.
