The Community Foundation awarded a $5,000 Community Needs Grant to the Tri-County Council to support a Shore Transit veterans’ fare program that allows free transit for veterans to travel to medical appointments, counseling, jobs or job training.
Free rides for veterans and their immediate family members will commence on Memorial Day, May 26, 2014. The free rides will be provided on both Shore Transit’s fixed routes and origin-to-destination transportation services.
