Join us: $35K for 35 Years!

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore has a long history of philanthropic leadership with an impact that is felt throughout our region. We are continuing this tradition in our 35th anniversary year with $35,000 in SPARK funds to each of the education foundations on the Lower Eastern Shore! By partnering with local education foundations, we are investing in the future of our community – our kids!

There is energy and enthusiasm throughout the region for engaging the community in public education. While there are many challenges to overcome, there is recognition that investing in young people and education provides benefits far beyond the classroom and the school year. We want to help ensure that students not only have high quality facilities, teachers, and curricula, but also the resources to lift them up in times of struggle, create a place that nurtures creativity, encourage them to strive to do their best, and allow them to thrive in the classroom and the community.

Dedication to Education

Since our founding, CFES has been committed to education as a key area of community philanthropy:

  • CFES awards more than $500,000 in scholarships annually to local students.

  • Our Education Grants program has awarded over $770,000, providing programs to enhance curriculum for K-12 education.

  • Scholarship funds comprise nearly 13% of the foundation’s total assets.

Somerset County
Public Schools

We are dedicated to "success, nothing less" by working with staff, parents, school groups and community organizations to address challenges facing our students such as poverty, violence, poor physical health, and family instability. With collaboration and support from our community, we can align resources to ensure our children succeed. Together we can provide students with an education that meets their individual needs while expanding their horizons.

Wicomico County
Education Foundation

We believe that every child’s education matters. Our mission is to advocate for and promote excellence and opportunity for all Wicomico County Public School students through active partnerships with the community and provide additional funding for public school programs and initiatives.  We pledge that every donation made will go to meet those goals through the purchase of materials for classrooms and providing funding for unmet needs.

Worcester County

We are committed to a proactive partnership between the community and the public school system – to link community resources with educational needs to prepare them to succeed.  Won’t you join us at this threshold in American public education? With your help, every child in Worcester County will be given the tools and education to compete and flourish in the new digital age. After all, our students are the Heart and Future of our Community.
