Between March 18 and June 21, the
Community Foundation invites organization and business participants who utilize
the Community Foundation’s Nonprofit Support Center for meetings and trainings
to bring a canned food item. Donations
can be dropped into a Maryland Food Bank food barrel that will be located in
the Foundation’s front lobby.
In addition, the Community
Foundation’s ShoreCAN Volunteer Center will be engaging volunteer efforts
throughout the campaign. ShoreCAN
currently has a database of over 300 volunteers and 150 nonprofits.
According to Chris Bitters, General
Manager, Delmarva Shorebirds, “We’re pleased that the Community Foundation has
thrown their hat in the ring and come on board to help us with this great
effort in raising the community’s awareness regarding hunger in our
communities.” He continues, “Their
involvement only shows how important this issue is in our region.”
“We look forward to partnering with
the Delmarva Shorebirds and Delmarva’s three food banks this season to increase
the awareness of hunger in Delmarva and to get the community involved in
helping our food banks,” stated Spicer Bell, President, Community Foundation of
the Eastern Shore.

On May 9, the Maryland Food Bank picked up TWO full barrels. There's plenty of time to still donate - all the way up to the Shorebirds All-Star game in June. Stop by our offices today. |
