Youth Foundation Seeks Grant Proposals
February 24, 2010

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s Youth Foundation Fund is seeking grant proposals from qualified nonprofits on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland prior to March 5th.

The grant proposals must benefit young people in the region of Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties. This year, the Youth Foundation will award $2,000 to nonprofit organizations in Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties that support youth and focus on their concerns and needs.

"The Youth Foundation Fund was established as a hands-on way for area youth to learn about the importance of endowments and the rewards of charitable giving while helping other youth," said Dr. Spicer Bell, Foundation President.

The fund makes a difference by addressing youth needs, bringing awareness to youth and encouraging students to participate in a worthy cause. The fund provides an opportunity for local youth to become involved in a beneficial extracurricular activity, to give back to the community, and learn the benefits of charitable giving.
