What Others Say:
Thank you very much for the scholarship money that was awarded to me. I am planning on attending Wor-Wic Community College for two years and then transferring to Salisbury University. While at Wor-Wic I will be majoring in nursing and my career goal is to become a forensic nurse. The money I have been awarded will definitely help me in achieving this goal.

ShoreCAN Volunteer Center Adopts HandsOn Connect, HandsOn Network’s Volunteer Management System
Local nonprofits invited to attend workshop to strengthen their volunteer programs
January 23, 2012
The ShoreCAN Volunteer Center, sponsored
by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, recently announced that it will
deploy HandsOn Connect, a groundbreaking project and volunteer management
solution delivered with cloud computing that will dramatically improve
volunteer management. The new program is
an upgrade from the previous database platform.
Lower Shore nonprofit organizations will have an opportunity
to learn about the new HandsOn Connect Volunteer Management System by attending
a workshop entitled: Volunteer
Recruiting: The “NEW” Way on Wednesday, February 22 at the Foundation’s
Nonprofit Support Center in Salisbury.
The workshop will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and will
introduce nonprofits to HandsOn Connect which can help improve how they manage
their operations including volunteer recruitment, operations, and project
activities. The event is free but
advanced registration is required.
“We are very excited to be part of the largest volunteer
network in the nation and to be able to provide this service to our local area
nonprofit organizations at no cost.” stated Spicer Bell, President, Community
Foundation of the Eastern Shore. “In
addition, we welcome the opportunity of making HandsOn Connect accessible for
our citizens to find relevant volunteer opportunities so they have a fulfilling
volunteer experience.”
Built using salesforce.com technologies, HandsOn Connect
delivers enterprise-class applications on the trusted Force.com cloud-computing
platform. This innovative system
provides volunteer management functionality without the cost and complexity of
software, hardware, or intricate infrastructure. Customers can access the service from anywhere
with an Internet connection. That level of ease and accessibility will help
organizations, no matter their size or budget constraints, realize success with
an affordable and scalable solution.
The new volunteer system will also make it extremely easy
for volunteers to find current opportunities, maintain records of engagement,
and improve their relationships with nonprofits and the community.
After volunteering, individuals can use HandsOn Connect to
rate their experience, provide feedback, and share stories through social
networking features.
