Program to Introduce Nonprofits to ShoreCAN Volunteer Center
February 9, 2010
Nonprofit organizations from Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore will have an opportunity to learn about how they may benefit from the ShoreCAN Volunteer Center at a lunch and learn program on Wednesday, February 24th, sponsored by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.
The program will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Foundation’s Eastern Shore Nonprofit Resource Center in Salisbury. Due to limited space advanced registration is required. There is no charge for registering for the program and lunch is provided.
This is a unique opportunity for local nonprofit executive directors and volunteer managers to learn about ideas and opportunities provided through the Foundation’s ShoreCAN Volunteer Center. The purpose of the volunteer center is simply to connect local nonprofit organizations in need of volunteers with individuals in this area who are looking for volunteer opportunities.
Over 80 nonprofit organizations have registered their volunteer opportunities on the ShoreCAN website, www.shorecan.org, since the center came under the auspices of the Community Foundation in October.
The ShoreCan volunteer lunch and learn program on Feb. 24th is being made available through the support of The Atlantic Philanthropies and the Community Experience Partnership. Anyone wishing to register for the program should contact the Foundation at 410-742-9911, or visit www.cfes.org.
