What Others Say:
I feel that the foundation has helped my organization in the past. If it was not for the grants we received the progress we have made would have not happened.

PIN Program Celebrates National Nurses Week
May 4, 2009
Nurses on Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore are being honored during National Nurses Week by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s Partners In Nursing (PIN) Program.  National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6-12.  The special week begins each year on May 6th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

The theme of this year’s Nurses Week is, “Nurses: Building a Healthy America”, and reflects the commitment nurses make every day for the public they serve.  Locally, National Nurses Week is being promoted by the Community Foundation’s PIN Program, a regional healthcare partnership aimed at supporting the local nursing profession through mentoring and professional development opportunities.

The Community Foundation’s local PIN partners include Atlantic General Hospital, McCready Memorial Hospital, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Salisbury University and Wor-Wic Community College.

“Our local nurses are priceless in maintaining the high quality of care for patients here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland,” said Spicer Bell, Community Foundation president.  “We are honored to once again promote National Nurses Week in our region.”
