National Nursing Expert to Speak at Wor-Wic Community College
March 23, 2009
 
Dr. Tim Porter O’Grady, a nationally known author, consultant and speaker on nursing and health issues, will be the featured speaker at a day-long seminar for nurses at Wor-Wic Community College Tuesday, April 21st  from 7:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.  Advanced registration is mandatory.
 
This special program is sponsored by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s Partner In Nursing (PIN) Program and is open to all local nurses. A $15 registration fee includes continental breakfast and lunch. An agenda and registration information is available online at cfes.org
 
Dr. Porter O’Grady will meet with local nurses to share his vision for Looking Beyond the Job: Building Nursing Practice for the Future.  Throughout the day, participants will focus on the personal and professional changes necessary to adapt to the new age in health care.   A morning seminar will be followed by lunch and a dynamic afternoon discussion.

The Community Foundation’s local PIN partners include Atlantic General Hospital, McCready Memorial Hospital, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury Genesis, Salisbury University,and Wor-Wic Community College.  This program is generously supported by a grant from the Maryland Rural Council and is further supported by the national Partners Investing in Nursing’s Future Program of the Robert Wood Johnsonand Northwest Health Foundations.
