Foundation to Host Social Media Workshop
October 23, 2009

C. David Gammel, a nationally known author, and consultant on media and website strategy, will be the featured speaker at a Lunch and Learn program on “Social Media” at the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, Monday, November 2, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

This special program is sponsored by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s Nonprofit Support Program. A $10 registration fee includes lunch.  Program and registration information is available online at www.cfes.org.

The title of the program is Social Media 101: What you must know and do to create valuable outcomes.  “Social media is currently a hot topic in marketing, but it can be daunting to figure out where to start and determine what you hope to achieve,” said Erica Joseph, Foundation Program Officer.  “This session will be an enlightening talk about social media and how to use it to support your organization’s goals and missions.  David’s focus on practical tips and tactics will aid any size organization,” she added.

“Local nonprofits are always looking for effecting ways to build awareness in the community,” said Spicer Bell, president of Community Foundation. “Social media is a valuable tool and we are looking forward to having David Gammel share his expertise on using it effectively.”
