What Others Say:
Thank you for choosing me as one of the students to receive the Elizabeth Brittingham Pusey Scholarship! I am very honored to receive such a prestigious award and grateful for the much needed financial aid toward my hefty college tuition. Please continue to assist the up-and-coming youth of the Eastern Shore in this way. Know that it is greatly appreciated!

Foundation Seeks Proposals for Community Needs Grants
March 4, 2009
The Community Foundation of the
Eastern Shore is seeking applications from nonprofit organizations for its next grant cycle for up to $50,000 in grants from its Lower Shore Fund for Community Needs.
These grants are awarded to nonprofits to benefit residents of Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties by providing financial support to charitable activities and to provide leadership in five key areas: arts and culture, health and human services, education, historical preservation, and the environment.
The Foundation also provides community leadership through local initiatives, charitable partnerships and nonprofit support programs. Several grants are expected to be awarded, with individual grant amounts likely to range from $500 to $7,500.
The deadline for submission of applications for the next grant cycle is April 1, 2009, with grants to be awarded in June. Copies of grant guidelines and application forms are available upon request by calling 410-742-9911 or by visiting the grants section of the Foundation’s website.
The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore is the leading philanthropic organization for charitable giving on
Maryland ’s lower shore. Gifts to the Community Foundation, a public charity, create permanent endowment funds that steadily grow in value over time and produce income to provide grants to local charitable nonprofit organizations. In fiscal 2008 the Foundation distributed $3.2 to the community through 1095 grants.
