Foundation Awards Over $12,000 in Technical Mini Grants
Lower Shore Nonprofits Receive Grants to Enhance Their Missions

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore awarded $12,396.34
in Technical Mini Grants to sixteen local nonprofit organizations through the
Foundation’s Nonprofit Support Program.
With the awarding of these Grants, the Community Foundation
established a milestone and has disbursed over $154,000 in Technical Mini
Grants to area nonprofit organizations.
The purpose of awarding Technical Mini Grants is to provide
up to $1,000 for individual nonprofit organizations in Somerset, Wicomico, and
Worcester Counties for the purchase of equipment, attendance at training
opportunities, or for other resources necessary to enhance their respective
missions.
Nonprofit organizations awarded Technical Mini Grants by the
Community Foundation during the current grant cycle were:
- Crisfield & Smith
Island Cultural Alliance was awarded $1000 to support the Center’s
marketing program that includes the purchase of a new laptop computer,
training and technical assistance for staff and volunteers.
- Art Institute & Gallery, Inc. was awarded $832 to purchase a new
computer and Adobe Design software to increase the organization’s capacity
to produce more marketing and outreach materials in house.
- Friends of Poplar Hill Mansion, Inc. was awarded $989 to purchase collection
management and membership software for museums.
- Assateague People of
Delmarva was awarded $700 to purchase a printer and laminator for the
production of marketing of the organization’s upcoming events in Worcester
County.
- Lower Shore Land Trust,
Inc. was awarded $750 to purchase an LCD projector, portable screen and
related accessories that will be used for volunteer training, community
outreach and education events.
- Crisfield Heritage Foundation was awarded $954 to replace aging computer
equipment.
- Furnace Town Living Heritage Museum was awarded $1,000 to provide partial support for a technology upgrade at the museum.
- Allen Historical Society, Inc. was awarded $750 to purchase an LCD projector to enhance community outreach and education efforts.
- Delmarva Zoological Society, Inc. was awarded $873 to provide support toward the purchase of a new computer and related software and hardware.
- Holly Community, Inc. was awarded $854 to purchase a mobile cart to transport a flat screen monitor and computer equipment to various locations with the MAC Senior Service building.
- McCready Foundation, Inc. was awarded $1000 to purchase a specialized scanner to work with the hospital’s electronic medical records and billing system.
- Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary, Inc. was awarded $1000 to purchase a new laptop for the Joseph House.
- Chesapeake Housing Mission was awarded $815 to purchase a computer.
- It Takes A Village to Help Our Children, Inc. was awarded $300 to purchase a scanner to digitize documents necessary for grant documentation.
- Del-Mar-Va Council Boys Scouts of America was awarded $400 to attend a training on effective fundraising.
- Kids of Honor, Inc. was awarded $199 to purchase a flip camera that will provide additional capacity for the organization to market itself.
