Foundation Awards $9,998 in Technical Mini Grants

            The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore recently awarded $9,998 in Technical Mini Grants to 17 local nonprofit organizations through the Foundation’s Nonprofit Support Program.
 
            The purpose of awarding Technical Mini Grants is to provide up to $1,000 for individual nonprofit agencies in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties for the purchase of equipment, attendance at training opportunities, or for other resources necessary to enhance their respective missions.
 
            Nonprofit organizations awarded Technical Mini Grants by the Community Foundation during the current grant cycle were:
 
  • Coastal Hospice – awarded $1,000 to support the cost of a manikin for use to test the skills of the patient care team and for continuing education.
  • Kids of Honor – awarded $700 to support the cost of a desktop copier.
  • Delmarva Education Foundation – awarded $140 to support the purchase of a new telephone system and portable file box to increase marketing outreach capacity.
  • Friends of Poplar Hill Mansion – awarded $1,000 to support the purchase of a laptop computer, digital camera, cassettes and DVD’s to enhance marketing and promotional materials.
  • Christian Shelter – awarded $948 to support the costs of the purchase of a desktop computer and monitor.
  • Ocean City Development Corporation – awarded $800 to support the costs of a website update to provide information on redevelopment activities and programs to the public in Ocean City.
  • Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art – awarded $450 to support the purchase of a wireless microphone for use in educational programs and special events.
  • Samaritan Ministries – awarded $250 to support the purchase of a laptop computer case and computer monitor.
