Foundation Awards $5,000 in Technical Mini Grants
February 16, 2010

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore recently awarded $5,000 in Technical Mini Grants to six local nonprofit organizations through the Foundation’s Nonprofit Support Program.

The purpose of awarding Technical Mini Grants is to provide up to $1,000 for individual nonprofit agencies in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties for the purchase of equipment, attendance at training opportunities, or for other resources necessary to enhance their respective missions.

Nonprofit organizations awarded Technical Mini Grants by the Community Foundation during the current grant cycle were:

  • The Joseph House Center was awarded $750 to purchase a computer to more effectively manage volunteers and for in-house marketing activities.
  • HALO – Hope and Life Outreach was awarded $1,000 to purchase two laptop computers to enable the organization to more effectively execute tasks that often requires work out of the office.
  • It Takes a Village to Help Our Children Foundation, Inc., was awarded $750 to purchase a computer to replace a manual system of tracking program implementation data required by the organization’s grant administrators.
  • Lower Shore Friends, Inc., was awarded $750 to purchase two laptop computers so the staff may provide better services to consumers that are unable to access services in the office.
