Foundation Announces Networking Lunches
September 9, 2008
The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES) has announced its Nonprofit CEO Networking Lunches for the fall.

All sessions of the networking lunches are free, but advance registration is required as space is limited.  The networking lunches provide local nonprofit leaders with an opportunity to join colleagues to learn what others are doing, share ideas, and identify opportunities for collaboration.

These events are offered through the Community Foundation’s Nonprofit Support Program.  The program is focused on providing services and resources to enhance the capacity of nonprofit organizations in the region through technical assistance, professional development, and continuing education.

An informational session on the Community Foundation’s 25th Anniversary Partnership Prize will be held on September 17 from 11:30-1:00 p.m.  Any organization interested in submitting a nomination should plan to attend.

Director of Public Policy at Maryland Nonprofits, Henry Bogdan, will be presenting a Nonprofit Economic Forecast on October 15 from 11:30-1:00 p.m.  Participants will discuss financial challenges and opportunities and learn how organizations can adapt and thrive in this changing economic environment.

Kim Patton of the Foundation Center will present an Introduction to Fundraising Planning on October 27 from 12:30-2:00 p.m.  An overview of developing case statements, diversifying funding partners, setting realistic goals, and preparing plans and timetables will be discussed.

CEO’s will have an opportunity to share thoughts and ideas with others in the nonprofit sector at the Networking and Hot Topics lunch on November 19 from 11:30-1:00 p.m., facilitated by CFES.

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore is the largest non-governmental source of support for nonprofit organizations in the Maryland lower shore counties of Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester.

Gifts to the Community Foundation, a public charity, create permanent endowment funds that steadily grow in value over time and produce income for grants to local charitable nonprofit organizations. In fiscal 2008 the Foundation made a total of 995 grants to the community representing $3.2 million.
