What Others Say:
Just wanted to let you know how pleased we were with the Community Foundation room we used for our Infant Adoption Training. The presenter remarked how nice it was to use state of the art equipment for her presentation and the attendees were pleased with the accommodations. Thanks for everything.

Field of Interest Grants Available to Nonprofits
August 14, 2008

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES) is encouraging local nonprofits to submit Letters of Inquiry for programs or projects that may qualify for grants from the Foundation’s Field of Interest Grant Program.

The Field of Interest funds are set up to meet needs within a specific area of need. Some of the active funds in this program support youth, the arts, women and children or programs operated within either of the Maryland lower shore counties of Somerset, Wicomico or Worcester. Through this grant program, the Foundation identifies high priority needs and seeks opportunities where a relatively modest amount of grant money can make a significance difference in our community.

The Letters of Inquiry are being sought to help the Foundation facilitate the distribution of funds to best serve the community. Letters of Inquiry should be typed, submitted on organization letterhead and should not exceed two pages. All Letters of Inquiry will receive a written response from the Foundation.

The Community Foundation has historically had a number of discretionary grant programs including Community Needs, Excellence in Education as well as Technical Mini-Grants. In fiscal 2008, the CFES distributed over $350,000 in unrestricted grant making to nonprofits in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties.

Any nonprofit in the region that has an interest in applying for a Field of Interest grant is encouraged to write a Letter of Inquiry describing its grant needs. Any questions or comments should be directed to Erica Joseph, CFES Program Officer.
