Dove Pointe presents Community Service Award to CFES
December 21, 2009
Don Hackett, Dove Pointe Executive Director, (l) announces the presentation of a Community Service Award to the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore. The award was presented to Dr. Spicer Bell, (r) Foundation President.
Dove Pointe in Salisbury recently presented the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore with a Community Service Award for the Foundation’s grant support for the organization’s numerous programs. Dove Pointe provides services to persons with disabilities focusing on teaching specific work skills necessary to help young adults to become successful employees.
The Community Foundation has supported many different Dove Pointe programs including enhancements to the facility’s Snoozelen Room which provides multi-sensory stimulation to children with autism and developmental disabilities.
The Foundation has also has supported Dove Pointe’s child care program for children with autism and most recently assisted in the purchase of equipment for a “Communication on the Move Program” that enables the staff at Dove Pointe to provide unique physical therapy to clients with severe physical and developmental disabilities.
