Donors generously support Help Your Neighbor Campaign

HALO - Hope and Life Outreach, Inc., a nonprofit ministry based in Salisbury that serves the needs of the homeless, or people at risk of being homeless, received a $2,000 grant from the Foundation's Help Your Neighbor Fund (HELP). This is one of several grants that are being distributed from the HELP Fund to local nonprofit agencies that providing critical support to families and senior citizens to assist them in meeting basic needs. Foundation donors have generously responded to the Help Your Neighbor Campaign to raise money for local organizations that assist families and seniors struggling to meet day-to-day expenses.
Responding to a Community Foundation challenge to match the first $10,000 raised from the community, donors responded with $31,000 in gifts bringing the total available to help those most in need in our region to over $41,000.
The Help Your Neighbor Campaign was conducted in lieu of the Foundation’s traditional Annual Appeal. Several distributions from the emergency fund have been made to local nonprofit organizations in recent weeks including grants to the Joseph House, Samaritan Ministries, HALO - Hope and Life Outreach, Inc., and Worcester County G.O.L.D.
