Community Foundation Hosts Workshops for Nonprofit Professionals

Shore nonprofit organizations will have an opportunity to enhance their organizational
effectiveness with two separate workshops through the Community Foundation’s
Nonprofit Support Center during March.
A Basic Nonprofit Financial Management Workshop will be held on Tuesday, March
6th from 9 a.m. to noon at Berlin Town Hall to enable local nonprofits to learn
the basics of budgeting, accounting, reporting, and internal controls from a
layman’s perspective. The session will
be led by Tom Wilson, Treasurer of Diakonia in West Ocean City. Tom has a lengthy career in all aspects of
financial management working with dozens of domestic and international
nonprofits. The registration fee is
$10.00 and advanced registration is required.
A second workshop entitled Essential Skills for Nonprofit Executives
will be held on Wednesday, March 21st from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community
Foundation’s Nonprofit Support Center to give nonprofit management skill
building techniques for individual and team effectiveness, as well as guiding
others to desired behaviors and results.
Tabitha Newton, Training Specialist with Perdue Farms in Salisbury, will
facilitate this workshop to help you manage your time, coach members of your team
and get the most of out of your meetings in which you lead and
participate. Registration is $10.00 and
advanced registration is required.
