Community Foundation Hosts Nonprofit Boot Camp for Area Organizations

Dr. Phillip Hesser, lead conference facilitator, engages workshop attendees during his presentation, ”Differences within ‘Young’ and ‘Old’ Making the Cohort Connection” at a day-long conference entitled: “Nonprofit Boot Camp: Engaging Volunteers, Clients and Stakeholders in Your Organization” hosted by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and Wor-Wic Community College. Attendees participated in interactive sessions conducted by experienced area professionals. The Conference was sponsored by Avery Hall Insurance Group.
The opportunity to engage volunteers, clients
and stakeholders in a changing society was the focus of a one-day conference hosted
by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore and Wor-Wic Community College.
The program, titled “Nonprofit Boot
Camp: Engaging Volunteers, Clients and Stakeholders in Your Organization,” on
October 7th focused on engaging the media, addressing issues through communication and
conflict resolution, and creating a strategic plan for increasing an
organization’s capacity and impact in the community. Twenty attendees participated in interactive
sessions conducted by experienced area professionals. The Conference was sponsored by Avery Hall
Insurance Group.
Conference highlights included a
workshop entitled: “Differences within ‘Young’ and ‘Old’ Making the Cohort
Connection” conducted by Dr. Phillip Hesser, Lead Conference Facilitator.
Dr. Veronique Diriker, Director of
Development at U.M.E.S., presented the workshop, “Working with Diverse
Community Organizations and Institutions: What You Need to Know.”
Steve Green, Editor of the Maryland Coast Dispatch, led a panel of
media experts on the topic of “Different Strokes: Using the Right Media with
the Right Audiences.”

the Eastern Shore (CFES)
is the community foundation serving the Lower Shore of Maryland since 1984,
