Community Foundation Awards Technical Mini Grants

The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore recently
awarded nearly $8,000 in Technical Mini Grants to ten local nonprofit
organizations through the Foundation’s Nonprofit Support Program.
The purpose of awarding Technical Mini Grants is to provide funding
for individual nonprofit agencies in Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties
for the purchase of equipment, attendance at training opportunities, or for
other resources necessary to enhance their respective missions.
Nonprofit organizations awarded Technical Mini Grants by the
Community Foundation during the current grant cycle were:
- The Humane Society of
Somerset County was awarded $750 to provide additions in technology to the
organization’s mobile spay-neuter clinic.
- The Ward Museum of Widfowl Art was awarded $1,000 to purchase a sound
system to enhance educational programs and events.
- The Nabb Cener was awarded $500 to purchase a digital camera and
related equipment to enhance the Center’s media outreach and education
efforts.
- Delmarva Education
Foundation, Inc. was awarded $975 to purchase a laptop and accompanying
equipment for the creation of a mobile resource center.
- Assateague Coastal Trust,
Inc. was awarded $900 to purchase a laptop for the Coast Kids Program.
- Second Wind, Inc. was awarded $900 to purchase a projector and screen for use in recovery meetings and education programs.
- Village of Hope, Inc. was awarded $738 to purchase a projector for the organization’s education programs.
- Worcester County G.O.L.D. was awarded $1,000 to purchase a new laptop for managing the organization’s financial data.
- Seton Center was awarded $800 to purchase a computer so that mental health counselors can better serve their clients.
- Salisbury Urban Ministries was awarded $600 to purchase a television to provide for group instruction and programming for afterschool participants.
