The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, as part of its core mission, has supported local nonprofit organizations since 1984.  In addition to financial support, the Foundation has developed a number of Nonprofit Support Programs designed to enhance the capacity of local organizations to effectively achieve their mission.

Educational programs, workshops, seminars, and special events designed to bring regional grant makers together with nonprofit leaders and provide opportunities for nonprofit networking.

Nonprofit Resource Center

The Nonprofit Resource Center provides the local nonprofit sector with electronic and print materials on a wide-range of nonprofit management and philanthropy topics including grant writing, strategic planning, and financial planning to board development, volunteer management, and marketing. A key research tool is free access to the top-tier of the Foundation Centeral's Foundation Directory Online, a searchable database of potential funding opportunities for over 98,000 grant-makers nationwide.

Nonprofit Scholarship Program

The Nonprofit Scholarship Program is offered in partnership with the Continuing Education and Workforce Development Department at Wor-Wic Community College. Scholarships (covering tuition and fees) are available for select courses each semester to staff and volunteers of local nonprofit 501c3 organizations.*****Funds have been exhausted for this fiscal year. Check back in July.*****

Technical Mini Grant Program

This grant program, offered twice annually, provides grants of up to $1,000 to local 501c3 organizations for capacity-building efforts to benefit staff and volunteers. Deadlines are January 20th and July 20th each year.

Meeting and Conference Space

The Nonprofit Support Center provides community meeting space for nonprofit organizations, free of charge, as a way to contribute to our joint efforts to build stronger communities. We encourage organizations to make use of our professional facilities to host meetings, seminars, or small conferences. Organizations that have not previously used a CFES meeting room are required first to submit a Use of Community Foundation Facilities Application Form. Organizations that have used our facility in the past, or new approved organizations, may download and fill out the Reservation Request for use of CFES Facilities Form.

Sign Language Interpreter Request

We are committed to making our service and facilities accessible to all of our patrons. We will provide sign language interpreter services by written request only. Please submit all requests for interpreting services five full working days (or more) in advance of the training that you will attend.
