Help Your Neighbor
While waiting for her new employer’s health insurance to become active, a local woman suffered a heart attack. She found herself unable to work, medical bills piling up and household expenses mounting. Facing utility disconnection, she reached out to the Seton Center in Princess Anne. They were able to provide emergency assistance made possible by the Help Your Neighbor Fund. Like many of us, she had never had to ask for help, but she was so grateful for the Community Foundation’s Help Your Neighbor Fund and donors like you!
More than 30 grants have been awarded to small local nonprofit organizations with a proven capacity to assure financial assistance gets to the neediest families in Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties.
Unfortunately, this special Fund is now running low and we need to ask for your help. Your donation will help keep Help Your Neighbor alive by providing emergency assistance to families and individuals who have been adversely impacted by the economy and overwhelmed traditional assistance programs.
